Keenan Adams, Only Ten, And Over 50 Turkeys Under His Belt
from Ga Outdoor Adventures

This is an unbelievable story, about an unbelievable young man. Keenan Adams was born on February 14, 1993. He is the youngest of seven children, and the only boy in his family. He is a honor roll student at Grace Christian Academy in Bainbridge, and will be entering the fifth grade. Keenan loves socce, baseball, and the outdoors.

Roy Adams, Keenan's father, and Roy’s brother Buddy, have been hunting since they were young boys. They started their own business in 1973, and as their business grew and they became more financially stable, they began purchasing land for fishing and hunting purposes. They have made their Decatur County farms one of the most beautiful and bountiful pieces of property around.

Before Kennan was walking, his father and his Uncle Buddy were taking Keenan along in the truck when they would go to the woods. If they tried to leave without him, he would cry to go. At the age of three, Keenan was always at his father’s side, and learned early to appreciate the land and the wilderness.

At the age of five, his Uncle Herb started teaching Keenan the importance of hunting safety. Keenan wanted to be able to hunt himself, so his father made him study for his hunting safety certificate. When his father took Keenan to take the test, the instructor thought he might be a little young to take it. Keenan did take the test, and was the ONLY one out of 40 people to make a 100.

After starting school, from time to time, Keenan was and is allowed to miss school on out-of-state hunting trips. His parents only allow this because Keenan is expected to maintain his A honor roll status. The teachers give Keenan his school work for the week, and he must complete all of his work before he is allowed to hunt.

Keenan is an example of what growing up in the outdoors, learning to hunt and fish, can do for young people - when the parents take the time to get their children involved in the great outdoors. This very young, little man, at the age of five, harvested his first turkey in Fowlstown, GA, in the spring of 1997. He has harvested over 50 turkeys in five states and two countries. He holds three Grand Slams, three Royal Slams, and one World Slam. Keenan uses box calls, slates, and is very accomplished in the mouth call. His shotgun is a Benelli M1 Field 90 camo. In addition to Keenan’s turkey accomplishments, he has taken six 8-pt. bucks, has caught 8 to 10 lb. bass, and loves to shoot doves and ducks.

Georgia's Outdoor Adventures salutes Keenan Roy Adams and all the people around Keenan, that got him involved in theKeenan Adams, Only Ten, And Over 50 Turkeys Under His Belt outdoors at such a early age.
